These round, compressed charcoal sticks are designed for bold, decisive markmaking. The sky's the limit for all the different applications there are for this studio staple. Sketching, drafting, painting, and in combination with colored pastels are all great places to start. We've also found that fantastic results can be achieved by smudging the strokes by hand, with a chamois, and even by crushing a stick into a find powder and mixing it with a few drops of water.
